Wacky Water Chestnuts

These cute little bundles make terrific appetizers year-round.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans whole Water Chestnuts, drained & halved crosswise
  • 1 (9oz) can Bacon
  • 1-1/4 c. Catsup
  • 1-1/4 c. Sweetener of your choice (Brown Sugar, Agave, Honey)
  • 2-1/2 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • Flat Toothpicks

Directions:

  1. 1. Cut bacon slices into thirds.
  2. 2. Preheat oven to 375°.
  3. 3. Wrap bacon around water chestnuts and secure with flat toothpick.
  4. 4. Place wrapped water chestnuts into a casserole dish.
  5. 5. Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a rolling boil.
  6. 6. Pour hot sauce over chestnuts.
  7. 7. Cover casserole.
  8. 8. Bake at 375° for 20 minutes.
  9. 9. Serve hot in chafing dish or low crock pot.
