Perfect for when our grandchildren visit!
Active Time
20 minutes
Total Time
30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 c. Unbleached White Flour
  • 2 Tbsp. Alum
  • 1-1/2 c. Water
  • 1 Tbsp. Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 c. Salt
  • Food Coloring

Directions:

  1. 1. Combine in a mixing bowl the flour and alum.
  2. 2. In a sauce pan, heat to boiling the remaining ingredients.
  3. 3. Stir the liquid mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients.
  4. 4. Knead until smooth.
  5. 5. Spread out on a flat surface to cool before allowing children to play with the dough.
  6. 6. Store in an airtight container.

Author's Notes:

Pull out the rolling pin and cookie cutters for a fun-filled play dough session. Use a Clip & Close Rectangular box with Inserts or the OXO Tot Baby Blocks containers to keep dough portions separate for siblings or to separate dough colors. A Roul'Pat Counter Mat may be helpful under each little artist's work area to help you with clean up after the fun is done. Consider possible allergens when selecting dough ingredients!
