When you make this delicious gluten free pie at your next gathering, your loved ones will want to join you in eating gluten free! The toasted pecans, delectable dark chocolate crust, and warm flavor will draw everyone in.

Ingredients:

Gluten Free Dark Chocolate Crust

  • 1-1/4 c. blanched almond flour
  • 1/4 tsp. sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tbsp. grapeseed oil
  • 2 tbsp. agave nectar
  • 1/2 c. dark chocolate (73% cacao), chopped and melted over low heat

Gluten Free Pecan Pie

  • 1-1/2 c. water
  • 2 tbsp. agar flakes
  • 1/2 tsp. sea salt
  • 1-1/2 c. agave nectar
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 3 c. whole pecans, toasted
  • 1 prebaked gluten free dark chocolate pie crust

Directions:

  1. 1. Bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan, then add the agar flakes and cook over high heat. Stir often until the flakes dissolve (about 10 to 12 minutes).
  2. 2. Decrease heat and whisk in salt, agave nectar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until all ingredients are combined (2 to 3 minutes).
  3. 3. Cool mixture at room temperature, then stir in the pecans.
  4. 4. Pour mixture into cooled pie crust and refrigerate until the pie has set (about 1 hour).
  5. 5. Serve and enjoy!
  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C)
  2. 2. Combine almond flour, salt, and baking soda, in a large bowl.
  3. 3. In a separate, medium bowl, whisk together grapeseed oil, agave nectar, and melted chocolate.
  4. 4. Stir wet ingredients into dry until thoroughly mixed.
  5. 5. Press into a 9-1/2 inch pie pan or a deep dish pie pan.
  6. 6. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes until the crust has a sheen and begins to look dry.
  7. 7. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before adding filling.
