Made with food-safe plastic, our white 6 gallon bucket is large enough to hold forty-five pounds of wheat or other grain. Because it’s manufactured BPA-free, you’re able to use it for many purposes including food storage. They’re fantastic for containing emergency disaster kits in an easily accessible way. Available for purchase separately are standard or Gamma style lids. This durable container uses the same size lid as our 3.5 and 5 gallon selections, so you could get a few pieces and mix and match as fits your current job.

Five gallon pails come in six bright colors and have the same PBA-free and food-safe plastic construction as the rest of the storage products on this page, excluding the black plastic option which is not rated to be food-safe. A variety of colors will help you organize contents—how about a red bucket to store your hard red wheat? Big and strong enough to hold up to thirty eight pounds of wheat, they can also be trusted for use in your garage or shop to store tools, automotive fluids and collections of hardware. In smaller sizes, our 2 and 3.5 gallon pails are available in white and have the same manufacturing specifications.

Lids & Bucket Accessories

Two types of lids are available for use with our buckets. The Gamma lid is our favorite option. It’s built of two separate pieces: a female-threaded outer ring that is snapped onto the pail and the inner male-threaded lid that screws into the outer ring. This construction offers gasketed, re-sealable protection for your contents. Made of durable, food-safe, and BPA-free pigments, they’re lightweight and even stackable!

Another option is the standard white lid. Attach after filling your container and it holds a tight seal to protect the contents. After removal these lids can be reattached, but won’t have an airtight seal. This polyethylene lid comes in two sizes, one for the two gallon buckets and one that fits all of the larger bucket sizes.

Do you need to remove bucket lids frequently? We offer two tough bucket lid removal tools (aka bucket lid wrenches). One is plastic, the other all-metal. To use either, first snip around the edge of the container’s cover with a wire cutter or similar tool. Then use the wrench to pry open the container. The metal opener with its side lugs also makes it a cinch to remove bungs from barrels.

Snappy Grip replacement bucket handles are another useful bucket gadget. Available in seven bright colors, they snap on easily to replace broken handles. They come in two parts and, when fit together, provide a comfortable handle that’s wider than original equipment handles, to spread heavy loads more comfortably.

Two Bucket Shapes

Buckets, as stocked here at Pleasant Hill Grain, come in two shapes. The most common is the cylindrical style as described above and the less common, but equally industrious, is the white square model. The food-safe polypropylene and polyethylene constructed square pail holds five gallons and uses a unique hinged lid that can be re-latched.

Our five gallon water jugs are convenient safe water storage containers for your family. Manufactured in blue heavy-duty food grade virgin polyethylene, their rectangular shape makes maximum use of limited storage space. They are genuinely rigid and stackable: stabilizing moldings keep the receptacles from shifting when stockpiled.
