Meadows 8" Stone Burr Mill, Assembly C, 2 HP/220V
Meadows 8" stone burr mills are available in three configurations, all available on this page:
- Assembly A is mounted on a compact wood base. Assembly A features bottom discharge. Grain drops into a wood drawer with 6 qt. capacity.
- Assembly C is mounted on a steel table
- Assembly MH is sold without mounting base, motor or pulleys.
The Meadows 8" stone burr mill will grind any free-flowing grain into fine whole grain flour, or adjust to crack grain for cereal or Southern style grits, as well as producing any texture between. Meadows mills are simple to operate and built for extremely long life. The stones of the 8" mill turn at 875 RPM for a cool grind that preserves full nutrition and best taste in the flour. These are commercial mills and have been in use for decades in the U.S. and worldwide. This style of mill is also known as a grist mill.
Assembly C is the most popular configuration of Meadows 8" mill and features a 6" x 5" discharge outlet opening that is surrounded by a wraparound steel frame sized to fit a 28 gallon Brute container. This feature allows the operator to slide the Brute container on a dolly in and out and helps protect flour from airborne contamination after the milling process.
Assembly MH mill has bottom discharge. This configuration includes only the mill and hopper. No motor or pulleys or stand are included. The Assembly MH allows you to provide your own power source. Motor must be driven at 875 RPM. Input shaft is 3/4" diameter.
Grinding Speed
All 8" Meadows mills have a grinding speed of 50 lbs/hour wheat, 60 lbs/hour corn (faster for coarser grinds). The 7 quart hopper can be fed from your self-supported overhead bin if you wish. Meadows mills are made in USA with native North Carolina granite stones. Most users get lifetime use from the original stones.
Power Options
Assemblies A and C are available with two motor options: The 1HP model has a 75% duty cycle and comes prewired with On/Off switch, power cord and Nema 5-20p plug end ready to plug into your 120V outlet. A 75% duty cycle means that out of each hour, the mill will grind for 45 minutes, then requires a 15 minute cool-down. The 2HP -220V model has a 100% duty cycle so it can operate continuously. The 2HP model is sold with an On/Off switch, power cord and Nema 6-20p plug and a Nema 6-20r receptacle. The receptacle, if needed, will require a qualified electrician.
Pricing
Pricing is FOB. Please call or e-mail with your Zip Code for a shipping quote. Crating for shipment is $100 in addition to shipping cost.

After more than half a year of use, I'm extremely happy with the Meadows 8” mill and believe it was a wise investment. I'm grinding mainly white and brown rice and the Meadows grinder gives me a finer flour with less heat than my old mill did. We're producing gluten-free cookies and the rice responds well to the cooler grind.
I was impressed with how the names of those who built the different parts of the mill were recorded. That told me I purchased from a company that understands accountability. The manual included with the mill is comprehensive and helpful.
Also, the entire purchasing experience and followup were second to none. Highly recommended!
Our small bakery uses the Meadows mill to grind rice, sorghum and wheat for bread and pastries. If you're looking for an easy-to-use mill to make flour, I would recommend it. It's easy to clean and maintain. Business has grown, so now I'm considering moving up to a larger Meadows model.
We use the Meadows stone burr mill at home, grinding wheat and corn to make bread, cookies, and so on. We're very pleased with the purchase. It's well made, very solid, a big step up from the mills we've used before. I think it will be in the family for a long time.
I'd recommend Meadows to anyone considering a small commercial flour mill. We're grinding corn into meal and flour for bread and other baking, and it's worked well for us. It's a good simple design, easy to use and to maintain.
Bought this to mill flour for our farmers maket. Easy to use and very dependable. I would definitely recommend this mill to anyone looking.
We're grinding wheat and rye in our small bakery and we're very happy with the Meadows 8” mill. It's easy to use, output is consistent, and I'm sure it will last for years. We'd recommend the Meadows mill to anyone with a small bakery, it's an excellent machine.
The Meadows 8” mill is faster and easier to operate than stone burr mills I've used before. It's been completely reliable, it's easy to adjust and runs smooth as a dream. We're grinding corn and wheat and cleanup is easy. It's a well made mill and I recommend it without hesitation.
I'm very happy with the Meadows mill. It's trouble-free and easy to run and maintain. It's been a great replacement for the machine we used before, which was always breaking down. There's nothing I'd change about the Meadows.
Works great on wheat triticale and corn. Very happy.
We began to distill grain and needed to grind to a flour. This mill works fantastic. We have processed tons of corn, rye and barley over the past year with excellent consistency and without fail.
