Maple Creek Wood Cider Press
This handsome wood apple cider press is sturdily constructed of birch hardwood, with a massively-built cast iron cross beam and heavy steel screw assembly. With a large seven gallon capacity, you can make a lot of apple juice with the Maple Creek apple cider press. The 1.5" diameter screw is 20-3/4" long overall and has 13.25" of travel; it's made of high strength steel and has an acme thread. The pressing basket is 12-3/4" inside diameter and 14-1/4" deep, for a large 7 gallon fruit capacity.
Assembly of the cider press takes one person about an hour. The tray (which the pressing basket sits on) and the lattice liner that sits in the tray are both shipped assembled. All wood parts need to be sealed and allowed to dry before assembly. Sealer is not included (we recommend EZ-DO, available below). A turning beam is not included with the press; one can be purchased separately, or you can easily make a turning beam yourself from an ordinary 2x4, and we include basic instructions on how to do that.
“We've had a Maple Creek press for about twenty years. Still works great. It's fun to get the family together in the fall for a cider party. Our new purchase was for our daughter's birthday. She now has a small orchard in Washington that's producing a bumper crop this year.”

Dimensions: 24"W x 21"D x 41"H (39"H to top of posts). Basket is 12" ID x 14.5"H. Weight is 109 lbs.
Warranty: The Maple Creek™ wood cider press is guaranteed by Pleasant Hill Grain against defects in materials and workmanship for one year.
It's important to keep the acme forcing screw well lubricated with food safe grease; this greatly reduces wear and turning effort, and dramatically increases maximum pressure and juice yield.
As with any press, to get good juice yield from apples you need to pulp them first. Proper pulping lets you get three to four times as much juice from the apples, compared to pressing the fruit whole. Our Maximizer™ apple grinder and Electric Apple Grinder are all excellent choices.

By Ken D. in NY on 4/11/2016 - Verified BuyerThe press arrived well packaged and complete. After sealing all the wood pieces (EZ DO wood coating was fantastic to use) assembly was straightforward using easy-to-follow instructions. The press is well built. We anticipate many years of use based on its solid construction. I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to press apples or grapes!2 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Did you?
