Kuhn Rikon Ratchet Grinder, 8.5 inch, White

To fill, just open fill-door and add salt, pepper or spices. Turn bottom knob clockwise for fine and counter-clockwise for coarse, then move ratchet handle back and forth to grind. We think you'll appreciate the high performance of this ratchet mechanism with ceramic stone.

Care Instructions

For routine cleaning, simply grind some coarse salt, the salt will absorb residual oils and any aftertaste. For the rest of the grinder, Use mild soap and water on a damp cloth. Dry with a towel.

Frontier Herbs Whole Peppercorns lend satisfying heat and bite to almost any dish (and they're great for salt-free diets). Pepper works well in combination with other herbs and spices, too, and is commonly found in spice blends. Grinding peppercorns just when you need them ensures the best, freshest flavor!

Pepper berries are at first green; they turn red as they ripen. The stage at which they're harvested, and whether or not they are husked, determines the color of the resulting spice. Black pepper is harvested while the berries are still green—before ripening. Sun drying turns them dark brown and wrinkly.

These pepper berries were grown in India and Vietnam.

I've used mine for 9 months. Works very well and fast. I use it to grind most of our salt including for baking. I don't think the texture is quite as fine as the fine salt I bought at the store, but it is close. I am pleased with my purchase.
