Gaskets should be replaced periodically, as they will harden over time and stop working — which will cause seal loss, and your cooker won't work. It's easiest to order a with your cooker, so you'll have a backup. (They can also be nicked or damaged by a stove burner, etc.) Tip: When not in use, gaskets can be removed from cooker lid to maintain proper shape for longest life.
Can you use a Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker for canning? The answer is here!
With any pressure cooker, be sure to add sufficient water. Complete evaporation will spoil your food
and damage the cooker. If you want, you can keep food suspended above the water by using a trivet.

I had the good fortune of trying out a friends Duromatic 2.6 qt before buying one and was so pleasantly surprised. My bloated 10 qt Fagor had another broken release valve so I was ready for something new. I love pressure cooking because it saves time and food taste better. Time is one of the few currencies we can manage without outside help.
The little 2.6 qt is perfect size and performs exceedingly well. It has a push button pressure release valve so you can control desired operating temperatures quickly. It's also quiet and easy to clean. Unless you are cooking for a platoon you don't need a big pressure cooker. You can taste the difference in your beans immediately and you can brown your meat and deglaze all in the same pan. And because it is ergonomically sized you will find you will use it way more. It was always a dread to haul that big 10 qt out of the cupboard and then have to wash after. I liked the 2.6 qt Kuhn Rikon so much I bought one as a wedding present for a good friend's daughter. Mine lives on the stove top now and is used all the time instead of occasionally. And it's made in Switzerland.
Excellent product, I don't have time to cook but I want to eat healthy food. No problem with the Kuhn Rikon pressure fry pan, so many things take just a couple of minutes.
I have a 6 quart KR cooker but wanted a smaller one to cook smaller amounts of vegetables. This works perfect. I also have an Instant Pot but like the Kuhn-Rikon because it is very quiet, quick to come to high pressure and cools off quickly when putting it under cool running water. My only problem (and I'm sure it is user error) I have a hard time to line up the arrows to get the lid on smoothly. I've been using it for about a week and it is getting easier each time.
Excellent for smaller meals. I have a 6 and 12 qt cooker and would not be without one. Price is very good, worth every penny.
I'm very happy with Kuhn Rikon products and have been using them for the past forty years.
To use and feeling safe is everything to me for starters. Then to have food cooked to perfection is a real blessing. It's my go-to favorite pan no matter what I have to cook and the craftsmanship is so outstanding it makes cooking such a joy. Thank you all for what you do to make my life a lot easier....
This is the most excellent pan for preparing meat entrees for dinner. I love the way it can tenderize lean cuts of meat and have them ready in minutes.
We've been using several Frypan P-Cs for over 30 years with our gas range. Deciding it was time to enter the 21st century, we installed an induction range -- and had no pressure cooker! This updated version of the Frypan Pressure cooker has been indispensable since the day it arrived. While the price may appear a bit high, factoring in inflation, it is less than the others we've purchased starting in the mid-80s.
