A perfect all-around grain milling solution, the KoMo Duett provides both freshly ground flour and flaked grains. Its beautiful cabinet, constructed of solid beechwood and furniture grade beech veneer, contains separate motors that allow you to grind and flake simultaneously or independently. Included with the KoMo Duett is a handmade ceramic bowl with a cool, smooth surface that complements the mill's warm finish.
Capacity of the grinder hopper is 2 lb., 10 oz. The 360 watt motor of the Duett 100 produces 8-9 ounces per minute for bread flour texture. This grinder has precisely fitted corundum-ceramic burrs and are adjustable to grind to any texture you choose, from exceedingly fine flour to coarse meal (just cracked if you wish). All by simply rotating the hopper to align with your choice on the front texture setting scale. The flaker has a 6.4 oz. hopper and its 140 watt motor flakes 2.8 to 3.5 oz. of oats per minute. Flake thickness is adjustable from .3mm to .65mm.
If you want the full range of capability from grinder to flaker, the KoMo Duett offers significant savings compared to buying a mill and a flaker separately. The grinder side will grind hard or soft wheat, oat groats (dehulled oats), rice, triticale, kamut, spelt, buckwheat, barley, rye, millet, teff, quinoa, amaranth, sorghum and dent (field) corn. It will also grind lentils and dry beans (pinto, red, garbanzo, kidney & more.) It isn't suitable for spices, herbs, oilseeds like flax or sesame, popcorn, or fibrous materials. The Duett's flaker is perfect for rolling all softer grains like oat groats. As with all KoMo grinders, cleanup is minimal and easy and access to the milling chamber takes just a moment and requires no tools.
If you prepare food for someone with a food allergy, see KoMo's optional interchangeable insert system. This ingenious solution lets you grind different types of grain in the same mill while keeping food types completely separate.

I researched grain mills for months and agonized over this purchase because of the price. It is my first and hopefully the last mill I’ll ever need. I’ve had this mill for about a year and have no regrets. It does an excellent job of milling grains and flaking oats. I love that both functions offer a wide range of fine to coarse settings. Besides the high quality craftsmanship the other big selling feature to me is that it is so attractive that I don’t have to store it & pull it out every time I want to use it and I know this has led me to use it more frequently. Cleaning it is also very easy. The only problem I ran into was the top magnet holding the wooden front of the flaker came loose recently when I removed it to adjust the coarseness setting & the magnet would fall right into the flaker. Luckily the machine was always off when this happened. I tried to glue it back in, but that didn’t work because I think the magnet was so strong. The easy fix was to screw a thin metal faceplate across and over the top of the magnet.
I bought this mill to replace a 42 year old, yes that's how long I've been grinding my own flours, Marathon Uni-Mill! I dithered and stalled for months before I finally made this purchase. I only wish I had opted to do it sooner!! My old mill was locked into one setting and was on the verge of dying a slow death so I finally gave in and bought the KoMo Duett and have been having a great time grinding things I had not been able to grind for many years, i.e. , wheat, rice, garbanzo, rye, barley and bean flours to make all kinds of things. Love the multiple settings on the mill allowing such flexibility to grind big beans on one setting and put back through on a finer setting. Makes beautiful flours of all kinds of grains and beans. So happy I made the purchase. I would buy it again in a heart beat. You can't go wrong.
I expected that the KoMo Duett would grind our wheat berries well, and it does. I expected it to flake the oat groats well, and it does. The grind is easily adjustable from coarsely cracked to fine flour. It's fast, and not terribly noisy (though not quiet). What really pleases me is that we no longer have to have a bin of flour for my bread making or a bag of oatmeal for baking or breakfast. Bins of different wheat berries and oat groats will last much longer and keep our kitchen much tidier. I can mix my hard red wheat berries and the hard white right into the hopper. Out of the Duett comes my bread flour. Our flour and oat meal will be fresher. An added benefit is that the Duett is a very handsome appliance, and cleanup after operation is minimal.
After owning a KoMo Duett 100 mill, purchased from PHG, for five years, I thought it was time to write a review. The Duett 100 has been a wonderful addition to our kitchen. We have milled over 500 lbs of grain and flaked several hundreds pounds of oats and other grains. The mill performs flawlessly each and every time. As the millstones have begun to wear slightly it has become possible to mill flour finer than the when the mill was purchased. We use the mill for making "stone ground" texture flour, cornmeal, and the like, as well as very fine flour (that we sometimes sift) for sourdough, commercial yeast, and chemically leavened breads. We also use it for milling soybeans, chickpeas, and similar foodstuffs. The only tiny imperfection in the unit's design is the thickness adjustment on the flaker, which tends to get stuck in the "fein" (thin) position, and requires a pair of pliers to loosen. Even after 5 years, the attractive wood cabinetry of the unit garners compliments from visitors. I expect to get many decades of use out of this unit, and consider it to be an excellent buy.
I am only beginning to explore freshly milled and flaked grains, but I can tell already they are much better than store bought flour and oatmeal. My bread, oatmeal and granola somehow feel more nourishing. This is my first mill and flaker but they have been very easy to use and are quite attractive on my counter. I was concerned that it might create a lot of dust, but that has not happened. Only a little from the flaker right around the bowl. The mill seems pretty loud, although I have nothing to compare it with. I just wear earplugs.
I have been using a KoMo Classic for milling hard and soft wheat berries for about a year. My wife purchased the KoMo FlicFloc Oat/Grain Flaker as a gift to roll oat groats. We quickly realized that flaking oats almost daily (family of 5) was becoming a chore. My family LOVES the flavor of freshly rolled oats. We decided to purchase the KoMo Duett Flaker and Mill and could not be more satisfied. My 80 year old mom can now roll her own oats in the powered flaker. I also upgraded to the Duett 200 model with the 600 w-3/4 HP motor. I bake 3-4 loaves of bread weekly and put about 3200 grams of berries a week through the mill. I do see a notable difference in milling time with the upgrade in motor. I purchased the KoMo Flour sifter accessory and use that now on my KoMo Classic.
Great service from Pleasant Hill Grain. Great product from KoMo. Worth the purchase if you have the need to mill and flake. You won't be disappointed.
We love our mill. It allows us to be gluten free at a much lower cost. We use the flaker the most, pretty much daily. The mill is great to use with several drier grains. We even use a mix of 2:1 rice to oat goats in it and the flour is great.
Actions speak louder than words: Every weekday morning I put 1/2 cup of oats in my KoMo Duett 100 and roll them for a delicious breakfast with dried blueberries and milk. Best rolled oats.
The service was excellent. The mill arrived very promptly and I received patient, kind help to learn how to operate it.
The Duett is a fantastic mill, exactly what we needed. It's super fast, and grinds small servings or large amounts with ease
