FGM Adapter for Bosch Compact & Styline Mixer

These adapters connect the Family Grain Mill attachments onto the drive base of the Bosch Universal Plus, Bosch Universal Classic, Bosch Compact, Bosch Styline, Ankarsrum/Electrolux, KitchenAid, Viking, and NutriMill Artiste mixers.

If you want to use the FGM meat grinder and an adapter to fit onto the Bosch Universal Plus mixer, you will need to fashion your own block, 5" tall, to support the neck of the meat grinder, or else use one hand to support it while pushing meat down into the grinder throat, otherwise it would be tippy. Separate support isn't necessary for the grain grinder or flaker mills because the weight of grain in FGM hopper isn't sufficient to cause the assembly to tip.

If you want to use the FGM attachments and an adapter to fit onto the NutriMill Artiste mixer, you will need to fashion your own block, 4.5" tall, to support the neck of the attachment, otherwise the mixer would tip over.

The FGM grain mill, flaker and meat grinder are all available to fit directly onto KitchenAid mixers. KitchenAid mixers should be 325 watts or more to run FGM attachments on the mixer.

Note: Using FGM attachments on your mixer may void your mixer's warranty. Please check your mixer's warranty statement to learn if use of attachments made by other companies is covered by your mixer's warranty.

Great adapter fro KitchenAid

This adapter for the KitchenAid mixer works great with the Family Grain Mill. I would recommend looking inside the KitchenAid attachment hub at the square hole, and aligning the adapter with that hole as you put it in, then turn slowly to align up the small bump on the back with the adjustment screw alignment indentation on the mixer. Works great. My mixer is an Artisan. Run it on speed 2 or 4.

Bosch Adapter: A Practical Solution

I have an old counter top Kitchen Aid from the 1980's, Model K5SS, and a sturdy workhorse made in the USA. I've been looking for something like this for quite a while. I bought the Family Grain Mill and all the attachments several years ago but not the electric motor. The hand operation is fine for most things except when you need to process larger quantities. I researched several motorized options and then found this unit which attaches to my Kitchen-Aid mixer. It's the perfect marriage of two quality appliances. I've only used it to process some Rye into flour so far but it works great and gives a finer flour than the Kitchen-Aid attachment.

Should add years of usability to formerly hand-cranked FGM for modest miller with arthritis

I have the hand crank for our Family Grain Mill, plus a couple of teenage kids. My teens are growing up fast, however, and I've developed arthritis in my hands. I think this little attachment will add years to the time before I need to invest in a fully electric mill for my modest flour needs. I bought the food processing part along with this to see if that makes my life better, but my summer order just arrived in late October, so I can't speak to effectiveness yet. I was just delighted to find these parts during a pandemic when our family decided that dipping into our 6 month Emergency Supply of food was a smarter choice than braving local stores.

Great option to motorize the manual Family Grain Mill, without buying an additional piece of equipment. A much smaller and less expensive option. This allows you to use whatever mixer you already have and turn it into an attachment.
