The Excalibur® D900 Dehydrator is a premium USA-built dehydrator. It features exceptionally solid case and tray construction, and includes polyethylene mesh screens for all trays. Its patented Excalibur Parallexx™ airflow system circulates air from back to front of dehydrator so each tray receives its own supply of fresh, dry air. This exclusive Excalibur dehydrator design prevents flavor-sharing and produces even drying without time consuming tray rotation. The Excalibur food dehydrator has a convenient removable front cover with sleek, full-grip handles, that allows you to remove any tray without disturbing other trays. Trays are fully removable for full access.
Comes with 9 large drying trays, each 14.1" x 14.1" (1.36 sq. ft.), for a total of 12.4 square feet of drying area (14 square feet if you use the tray edges)! Also included are 9 stick-resistant poly mesh sheets. Big 7" diameter fan for strong airflow, with 600 watt heater. Temperature is adjustable between 105° and 165° F. The Excalibur dehydrator measures 12.5"H x 17"W x 19"D. Food contact parts of the Excalibur dehydrator are dishwasher safe.
Low-temp oven option: The Excalibur dehydrator features a full cabinet and can be operated with any number of trays—or no trays at all. This gives you the option of using it as a low-temperature oven and for unconventional purposes like drying damp boots or mittens!
Excalibur's D900 series dehydrators include a timer. The timer can be set to operate your Excalibur dehydrator from one hour up to twenty six hours and will turn it off at the end of the time period that you've selected. This makes it easy to incorporate dehydrating activities around your schedule. Your Excalibur will turn itself off while you're sleeping or when you are away. The timer makes dehydrating as convenient as using a slow cooker for unattended meal preparation.
Durable construction: The stainless steel dehydrator cabinet and trays and full grip handles are very strong and easy to clean. The opaque exterior of the Excalibur D900 food dehydrator blocks light to preserve the nutrients in your drying food.
Included: 9 large drying trays, plus the 192 page Preserve It Naturally (a $24.95 value FREE), plus the 32 page Excalibur Dehydration Guide.
Stainless steel: The cabinet on the D900SHD is stainless steel outside and plastic inside, the trays and door are stainless steel.

I’ve used round plastic dehydrators for many years, but find the Excalibur trays much easier to load and unload. It also dries more efficiently and quickly. I use it for jerky, greens, and vegetables.
We selected this food dehydrator for its capacity. Peaches take a lot of space at first. The ten year warrantee is an indication of expected durability. "Throw away" appliances are not for us. It's a good looking piece with all stainless steel panels.
The control position relative to the door does not lend it's self to under cupboard placement. A front cover that slid under the unit when open would be a welcome feature.
