This accessory Dry Grinding Carafe is a 32 oz. carafe with blades optimized for grinding dry materials such as grain, into meal or flour. It will also grind many herbs and spices. Extensive grinding of hard, dry materials can eventually "fog" the inside of the carafe, so having a separate one for this use will keep your standard carafe nice and clear for normal (moisture-containing) materials. Carafe is made of Tritan™ copolyester. Includes lid. With this carafe you also receive the whole grain baking cookbook... this great cookbook was created just for use with your Vitamix!

I bought it to replace my grain mill because it takes up less space and has fewer parts than the Nutri-Mill. It is much easier to clean also. Those are two major advantages to me. It worked wonderfully even though I accidentally overfilled the carafe. I highly recommend it.

Changed out the standard blender pitcher with this grinder. Fit flawlessly. Ground a cup of organic brown rice in 60 seconds for 1.25 cups of flour. Very nice consistency. I'm very impressed. If you already have a Vitamix this is much cheaper than buying a separate mill and it works great. Pleasant Hill also contacted me personally for the order. Great customer service.
