Clearance: NutriMill Plus Grain Mill

Introducing the NEW NutriMill Plus! The new NutriMill Plus grain mill boasts 11 new patented improvements. It’s 15% quieter than L'Equip's previous design, and has 20% more batch capacity—now a huge 24 cups!

The NutriMill Plus mill is uniquely designed to nest compactly inside its flour canister for a 30% smaller storage footprint than the NutriMill Classic. With its patented 4-stage filtration system and included flour bagger accessory, milling at home is clean and convenient.

With all these advancements, the NutriMill Plus retains all the key advantages of the very popular NutriMill Classic, starting with the ability to grind flour from fine to coarse, or anywhere between. The NutriMill Plus electric grain mill uses a high speed impact milling chamber (also referred to as a micronizer) to create flour from grains and beans, a modern and well-proven milling design.

Convenient, powerful & fast: Just pour grain in the hopper, turn the NutriMill on, and its powerful two speed, 1200 watt motor does the rest to quickly produce your choice of fine, medium or coarse flour. The grinding mechanism is self cleaning, and with a new four stage filtration system it operates exceptionally dust-free.

The versatile NutriMill Plus grinds wheat (both hard and soft), oat groats (dehulled oats), spelt, kamut, triticale, rice, dry beans, lentils, dent (field) corn, popcorn, dried sweet corn, split peas, buckwheat, rye, barley, millet, quinoa, amaranth, teff, sorghum, dried mung beans and soybeans. It will also grind dried just-sprouted grain. The NutriMill Plus isn't suitable for spices, herbs, oilseeds such as flax, chopped chestnuts, flaked oats or fibrous materials. Grains and beans that have already been milled can't be milled again in any impact mill, including the NutriMill Plus. Also note that when set for coarser meal texture, the NutriMill Plus output remains too fine for making cereal grinds such as cream of wheat. The NutriMill Plus is an outstanding machine for making a full range of flour and meal textures.

The design of the NutriMill Plus impact chamber lets you to put grain into the hopper before you turn it on with no risk of plugging the mill, which can happen with older designs. Even if stopped during grinding, the NutriMill Plus restarts again without trouble. This is a crucial design feature for an impact mill.

Protects nutrients: The NutriMill Plus keeps your flour at temperatures (typically about 118°) that protect the nutrients in your grains. Its new airflow design makes the NutriMill the world's coolest-running impact mill.

The NutriMill Plus includes flour bagger that makes it easy to prepare flour ahead, and it's ideal for making a gift of flour to a friend. A ring holds the bag in place in the flour bin, and one bag holds all the flour from a full hopper of grain. Ten plastic storage bags are included with the grain mill.

Excellent mill
By Scott W. in MN on 3/17/2016 Verified Buyer

After having a Nutrimill Classic for about 10 years, the Nutrimill Plus is much quieter. It jumps a bit when turning on. The speed at which the flour is made is much faster than the Classic.

Very good grain mill
By James P. in OH on 2/12/2016 Verified Buyer

I rate this grain mill 4 stars. This mill has many 5 star qualities to recommend it: space saving storage design; a 4-step filtration system to keep dust out of the air; separate container where milled grain ends up plus a way to easily bag it; and an easy to clean design.

From a performance point of view, I have to give the mill 3 stars because it really doesn't produce a finely milled flour even though it claims to have a 'pastry' setting. I had, for many years, used a Magic Mill (these are no longer made). This mill on the fine setting would produce a very fine flour, near the grade of an all purpose in fineness. A single pass through this NutriMill Plus isn't nearly as fine, even though it's called a 'pastry' flour mode (feel pastry flour from a store against this mill's finest setting, and you'll easily feel the difference). You have to mill the grain twice through this mill to get somewhat closer, but it still isn't pastry grade or close the fineness of my old mill. I end up having to sift the flour to get the fineness I want, so it's more work overall.

For bread making, the single pass milling is good, but if you need finer flour that is more like all purpose or pastry grade, it will take some work.

Averaging the 5 and 3 star qualities, I'd give this 4 stars overall.

Nutrimill Plus Grain Mill
By Barbara N. in ME on 1/29/2016 Verified Buyer

Much quieter than the vacuum cleaner, first use had a very minor dust leak at bin lid edge though none after that. Must be a breaking-in thing. It milled my wheat berries unbelieving fast and uniform. I tried all the settings. sifted and got different results of more or less branny stuff in sifter. Just saying that because even though it's a slight turn of the dial, the machine does the thinking. The Nutrimill Plus is fun to us and not messy at all. I'm totally new to milling my own grain and I'm absolutely hooked. The taste of a fresh baked loaf of bread... delicious! Eager to try more grains. Pleasant Hill Grain gave excellent service and free shipping.

New to fresh-milled flour, and I'm hooked!
By John W. in LA on 4/21/2016 Verified Buyer

Very pleasantly surprised at how truly simple and clean this whole process is. Been using the mill for a few months now. Ordered wheat berries, rye, spelt, barley, millet, etc. Everything mills cleanly and easily. No dust storms! As a bonus, the mill is compact and good-looking, so I don't mind leaving it out on my counter in a corner. Biggest and best surprise of all is how much my kids like the pancakes, biscuits, and bread that we make from fresh-milled grains. Even a roux comes out great with fresh flour. Very happy with this product. Suggestion: volume measurements (cups, tablespoons) are not as reliable as before because my fresh flour "settles" over time. Bought a kitchen scale and use weight to keep track of my recipes. Makes it more likely to replicate a successful experiment.

Updated and revised Nutrimill Plus is better
By James P on 12/06/2016 Verified Buyer

I had previously written a review of this mill and gave it 4 stars. The major problem I saw was it didn't grind the grain into fine flour.

I had one of the earliest models. L'Chef has since revised this mill, and now includes at least three better features than the first version had. One, the motor is now soft-start. It doesn't twist and try to fly off the countertop when you start it up. Two, the flour canister tube now locks securely into the main mill. Before you had to push and be sure you had enough contact, but now the "click" ensures it will stay in place. And three, it makes fine flour! This is much better than before. No more two times of grinding to get reasonably fine flour.

L'Chef replaced mine for free under warranty, so kudos to them for standing behind their product. This new version of the Plus model is everything I wanted.

Great Flour With Less Effort
By Scott K. in MN on 12/19/2015 Verified Buyer

I don't have a Nutrimill Classic to compare it to, but I DO have a hand-powered mill, and - not surprisingly - the grain is ground far faster this way. I wasn't able to find much flour dust around after grinding, and it's pretty easy to clean.

My only complaint is that the grain doesn't always automatically go from the hopper to the grinder. .. I often have to stir it a little bit to get it going again. It's possible that I have the red "thing" that controls the grain set up incorrectly though... if so, I'll come back and edit.

Upgrade Successful!
By Fozzie DB. in Central IA on 3/15/2016 Verified Buyer

I make a lot of bread for church fund raisers and gifts, and have used a NutriMill Classic with a Bosch Universal Plus mixer for this for over 10 years, and liked the new features described for the NM Plus so decided to give it a try. I am glad I did! Quieter, faster, and with more convenient features, e. g. bagger, separate flour canister, nesting storage. Also, L'Equip quickly resolved a mechanical problem I had with the original machine I purchased, replacing it with another new unit. I am most grateful and impressed by such customer service.

Engineering quality shows
By Joseph L. in ID on 11/11/2016 Verified Buyer

Had a Wondermill for years. Storage footprint for the NutriMill is smaller, and it allows filling before turning on (meaning: if I overfill the hopper I can turn it off without worrying about toasting the motor, which I did once with my Wondermill). Have only had it a week, but am happy with it so far.
