Clearance: KoMo FidiFloc Medium
The versatile KoMo FidiFloc combines a motor-powered grinding mill with a hand operated flaking mill. Two models are available, one rated at 360 watts and the other at 250 watts. The same flaker is included with both.
The FidiFloc Medium produces 8-9 ounces of flour per minute for bread flour texture. Precisely fitted corundum-ceramic burrs grind to any texture you choose, from super fine flour to coarse meal or cracked grain. All by simply rotating the hopper to align with your choice on the front texture-setting scale.
The solid beech hopper holds 1 lb., 15 oz. of grain, enough for over two pounds of whole grain bread.
On the grinder side, dry grains can be ground with the FidiFloc mill, including soft or hard wheat, oat groats (dehulled oats), rice, triticale, kamut, spelt, buckwheat, barley, rye, millet, teff, quinoa, amaranth and sorghum. It will also grind lentils, dry beans (pinto, red, garbanzo/chickpeas, kidney & more), and dried, non-oily spices. It isn't suitable for herbs, oilseeds like flax or sesame, popcorn, or fibrous materials. The FidiFloc Medium will also grind soybeans and dent (field) corn.
Dent (field) corn and soybeans can be ground to any texture from cracked to meal to very fine flour. For these very large-kerneled grains, grind first with the stones opened widely to produce cracked grain, then a second time if you want flour. The KoMo FidiFloc will grind oats to a wonderfully soft, fine textured flour, but open the stones about five clicks (or so) wider than you would for a hard grain like wheat, otherwise the soft oat flour will fill the stones' furrows and in-feeding will stop. Opening the stones further will give you a cereal grind for porridge, or coarser yet for cracked oats, similar to steel-cut.
The FidiFloc's flaker is perfect for rolling all softer grains like oat groats. It has a 6.4 oz. hopper and flakes 3.5 oz. of oats per minute. The flaker handle is removable from the cabinet, and the entire flaker assembly also can be removed from the cabinet for separate use if you prefer. A clamp for the flaker comes with the FidiFloc. More details about the KoMo FidiFloc are available under the specs tab, above.
Optional interchangeable inserts: If you prepare food for someone with a food allergy, see KoMo's optional interchangeable insert system. This ingenious solution lets you grind different types of grain in the same mill while keeping food types completely separate.
Pleasant Hill Grain carries a wide range of whole grain products, including oat groats.

I've only used the KoMo FidiFloc a couple of times, but I'm already in love. The cabinetry is beautiful, the KoMo grain mill is quite and capable, the flaker works well. The construction on both machines feels solid. I had a mechanically minded friend visit while I was using it, and he took down the name so he could go home and buy one. I would definitely make this same decision again.
This review is for this same unit that I purchased in 2023. This particular unit is an order I canceled as I had access to use the previous unit. The mill portion works perfectly. That would receive 5 stars if I could separately review. It’s fast and efficient. It is also beautiful on my countertop. Wish they would add an easy way to clean out the remaining bits of flour between grinds.
The hand crank flocker not so much: I have rolled Einkorn and Khorasan wheats in it. I make quite a bit of granola. I tested it dry as well as an online suggestion of soaking a cup of grain in 1Tablespoon water over night. It does not do a nice clean job of rolling the grain either way. The unit spits out mostly crushed and some rolled bits. They go everywhere as the cup provided is loose in its catching position. I have found that moving the entire unit to a cookie sheet at the edge of the counter was necessary to catch it all while cranking. The cranking is a lot. I was considering the electric unit but I wonder if the outcome of the mostly broken grain will be the same, but without my having to crank it.
I have been wanting to get my mill for more than a year. Unfortunately, I waited until the pandemic hit to actually get it. Still, I received my FidiFloc mill quickly and well packed. I'm still waiting on my wheat to come in and try it, so not ready to say how it works. However, it is beautiful, looks great in the kitchen and fits easily under a counter. I bake at least twice a week, so I expect to get lots of use out of it. I will update my review once I get my wheat. I'm still waiting for the sifter that was out of stock.
Brand new KoMo FidiFloc arrived in the midst of increased homebaking while quarantined due to covid-19. So much fun. The people at Pleasant Hill were great to work with during the ordering process; I knew the machine was back-ordered but it arrived earlier than expected. It's as lovely as I'd hoped it would be. Essentially no set-up required. Kids are having fun making their oatmeal flakes for breakfast and I'm delighted with the flour it grinds.
Now if only there was grain readily available -- It looks like everyone else has the same idea! Who knew getting wheat / rye berries would be a problem? : )
Stay healthy, all.
Overall, I am quite pleased with the functionality of this mill. It is a wee bit loud but tolerable. My biggest disappointment is that the handle for the flaker is too long to turn it on the counter. I have to move the mill to the edge of a counter which is rather awkward not to mention inconvenient. It also takes a lot more "cranking" that I would have expected but it does a great job. I would recommend this as a great mill to try.
Have only had a couple weeks, so far we have ground enough wheat for six regular loaves, one no knead artisan style loaf, a few pizza crusts, pancakes, and I've flaked oats once for breakfast. The mill is excellent and doesn't produce dust over the kitchen, the flaker though manual only took me a minute or two to grind enough oats for my breakfast. It is quieter than expected and grinds very fine. The grind adjustment is easy. Shipping was fast and well packaged
I bought my FidiFloc during pandemic - like another reviewer said, I wanted one but didn't jump fast enough. First, PHG was great about keeping me in the loop regarding fulfillment and shipping (this was when they were weeks behind because of demand). Second, it arrived in perfect condition. Lastly, I have been using mine regularly for the past couple of years. The flaker is insanely easy to use and it makes quick work of oat groats, turning out beautifully rolled oats for granola and oatmeal. The mill itself is a little loud, but not any worse than my electric mixer. It is very sensitive and I like the range of flours I can produce, from fine soft- and hard- wheat flour to coarser corn meal.
It looks so nice on my countertop - I'm proud to keep it out all the time! I did order the drawer base from a Dutch company so that I could raise the unit and turn the handle of the flaker without having to turn the unit sideways on the counter to give room for the handle to make full turns (and it makes a nice storage container if you want to flake your oats the night before or have grain handy when you're ready to grind).
I absolutely adore this machine and I wish I hadn't waited so long to buy it.
Awesome product everything works perfectly.
What more can I say than it ranks up there with my first born son! This is a fantastic machine. Use it all the time and my breads are better for it. You will not be sorry.
I bought the FidiFloc Medium. It’s beautiful, works well, highly versatile. I flake groats and mill wheat berries. Plan on milling everything I can eventually.
