Clearance: BRK Alpha Pressure Cooker 4.2Q
This is an R1 clearance item. Please check the tables below to see how we rate our clearance items.
In Europe, BRK is known as a leader in advanced pressure cooking. Their cookers offer features found nowhere else, and users appreciate the quality fit and finish of the BRK line. You'd be hard pressed to find a more advanced or useful pressure cooker than what German maker BRK produces. Our customers have fallen in love with these exceptional kitchen tools, and we think you'll also find them an outstanding addition to your kitchen.
A key advantage of BRK pressure cookers is their continuously-adjustable pressure regulating valve. This unique valve automatically maintains the pressure you choose and allows you to change that pressure setting at any time during the cooking process. And BRK cookers incorporate inherently safe design features that eliminate the possibility of the mishaps once seen with "old time" pressure cookers, so you can use this cookware with absolute peace of mind.
“We're very pleased with the quality and craftsmanship of the BRK Alpha pressure cooker. Everything appears to be well made and engineered. We look forward to using it for a long time.”
– Robert N., TX
BRK is the only pressure cooking system in the world with a patented lid that can be operated with just one hand. The lid attachment uses no lugs or rotation, so there are no lid-to-pot arrows to line up—just squeeze the top handle, press the lid down, release, and the lid clamps positively in place no matter which way it's turned. This unique BRK design is fast, easy and secure.
An alloy heat-conducting disk sealed into the stainless steel base of every pot spreads heat uniformly. You can brown meats before cooking with pressure, and the even heating you get with the BRK base provides consistent results. BRK pressure cookers work with all types of cook tops, too: electric, gas, ceramic, induction or halogen.
Pick up any piece of the BRK system and you'll feel the quality of their materials and construction. From the 18/10 stainless steel to the solid, perfectly-sized handles, BRK is at the top tier of advanced stainless steel pressure cookware.
BRK Alpha Dimensions
BRK manufactures their pressure lids and lid components in Germany; pots are made to exacting BRK specifications, in Asia.

Meats are more tender, veggies are more colorful and have superior texture. It's hard to beat a quality kitchen tool that's super easy to use, saves time, saves energy and saves money. BRK cookers do all these things, and they're built with the quality to keep doing them for years and years. Choose BRK... we predict you'll be glad you did!
Each BRK pressure cooker includes a pot, pressure lid, and a stainless/glass lid.

Expanded Ratings Descriptions
|R1||Very close scrutiny is required to tell that the item isn’t brand new. Working surfaces may show slight wear; for example, the bottom-inside of a Bosch mixer bowl may show swirl marks because Bosch mixer whips are designed to “float” against bottom of bowl. Non-working surfaces (cabinet, control panel) look essentially new. Carton may not be perfect.|
|R2||Typically has a small scuff or mark on a non-working surface like a mixer cabinet or the top of a pressure cooker lid.|
|FR||Mostly returned items which have been brought fully up to new-equipment performance specs at the factory.|
|D||Demonstration items have been operated briefly at Pleasant Hill Grain.|
|DIS||These items have never been used but we no longer sell them at full price in our store because it was discontinued by us or by the manufacturer.|
|U||Has had light use.|
|SDB||Has moderate damage or blemish on a non-working surface, such as a scratch or dent in the housing, or paint blemish.|
|NOS||A brand new item that isn't the newest model.|

By Ingrid K. in CO on 11/2/2015 - Verified BuyerWow! Unlike many people who are afraid of using pressure cookers, I grew up in a home where my mother used hers several times a week. I've used two sizes of German pressure cookers for over thirty years, mine being quieter than Mom's. I'm now making stock again and was linked to Pleasant Hill by a site that touts the merits of using a pressure cooker vs. stove top or crock pot (poor outcome).
Older now and without as strong a grip in my hands, I was immediately attracted to the unique "one hand release" locking mechanism. Also love the very easy to read measuring lines inside the pot. I bought the largest BRK cooker and couldn't' be happier. Shipping was prompt and extremely well packaged. Kudos!

By Janet K. in HI on 10/7/2016 - Verified BuyerI knew the BRK cooker was a quality product, but was amazed at what a beautiful a cooking instrument this is. I love the ease of putting the lid on, too. I've tried rice, beans, meat, quinoa, and even made beautiful yogurt. This truly is the best pressure cooker ever!11 out of 11 people found this review helpful. Did you?
By Richard R. in TX on 6/15/2015 - Verified BuyerFirst time (and hopefully last!) time I've purchased a pressure cooker. After some reading I called Pleasant Hill Grain and asked questions regarding the BRK and one other. The sales lady was very knowledgeable and helpful. I decided on the BRK and bought the 9 liter size. I'd recommend nothing smaller. Better to have the capacity than not! I've used it twice so far. It's easy to use, the lid is a breeze to put on and take off. No regrets .Thank you all.8 out of 8 people found this review helpful. Did you?
By Ronnie A. in FL on 2/9/2016 - Verified BuyerThe pressure cooker is made of high quality stainless steel and has lots of safety features to make it easy to use. You can set the BRK and forget it until it's ready to turn off. Lots of room to cook anything you want. It's become one of my favorite cooking pieces and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality pressure cooker.7 out of 7 people found this review helpful. Did you?
By Robert N. in TX on 1/7/2016 - Verified BuyerI had bought my wife several other brand of pressure cookers and were not pleased with the quality. I decided to try the BRK even though it was more expensive. We're very pleased with the quality and craftsmanship of the BRK Alpha pressure cooker. Everything appears to be well made and engineered. We look forward to using it for a long time.7 out of 7 people found this review helpful. Did you?
By Traci L. in IA on 2/4/2018 - Verified BuyerIt is heavy and built to last. I have never used a pressure cooker before and was raised on stories of my grandmother's pot exploding. Nonetheless I took the plunge and bought this stove top model. I am so glad I did. The redundant safety features make me feel safe. It took no time at all to make bone broth. Buy this and you won't regret it.3 out of 3 people found this review helpful. Did you?

By Catherine in NY on 8/4/2016 - Verified BuyerAfter trying out several other brands including Kuhn Rikon and WMF, this is my favorite because it doesn't have long handles,, and the ease of pressure buildup as well as ability to select pressure level. Also, I bought the steamer and roaster and am very happy I did.2 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Did you?
By Barbara L. in CO on 12/23/2018 - Verified BuyerI already own two BRK pressure cookers. I also own a few Kuhn Rikon PCs. I love the BRK because of the one hand operation. So much easier. I bought this last one when one son moved out. He wanted one to take with him so he could cook for himself and his brother. He cooks veggies almost every dinner. This size is also great for cooking artichokes and corn on the cob.1 person found this review helpful. Did you?
