Ankarsrum Double Beater Plastic Bowl

I love my Ankarsrum mixer and all the many things I can do with it, but it's weak point are the plastic parts. My bowl had to be replaced when it cracked, and I've had to replace the gears for the whisks and beaters.

It took some time for me to get use to the Ankarsrum mixer after using a Kitchen Aide all my life, but I like the power and dependability of this mixer. It is hard for me to decide what to mix in the plastic bowl and what to mix in the large bowl, and I guessed wrong with some stiff cookie dough, and I ended up with a cracked plastic bowl. I am very happy with the Ankarsrum system, but I wish the accessories were not so expensive.

This is no reflection on Pleasant Hill Grain. They have a great website and I got my bowl in a timely manner and it was well packaged. My average rating has to do with the plastic quality of the bowl and that is more on the manufacturer. The Ankarsum mixer overall Is great for mixing tough doughs and outshines the Kitchen Aid in that realm for sure. I have broken a few Kitchen Aid’s in my day because the internal gears can’t handle the torque. Ankarsum is much better in that realm but when it comes to mixing cake batter and cookie doughs I feel like the plastic bowl that Ankarsum provides is a bit awkward to scrape down and I have cracked a plastic bowl mixing chocolate chip cookie dough. I much prefer the metal bowl and paddle attachment of the Kitchen Aid to the Ankarsum plastic bowl and beaters. I feel like at 60-70 dollars for the bowl it should be more durable and I would prefer it be made out of stainless steel but they don’t make this bowl in that material. Overall, I love the Ankarsum mixer as I said it far exceeds the Kitchen Aid in being able to mix bread dough and I don’t feel like I’m going to break it but when I go to mix cookie doughs with chunks of chocolate, fruit and/or nuts the plastic bowl you have to use leaves a bit to be desired.

I received this appliance as a gift for Christmas 2018. The bowl lasted about a year when I noticed a crack at the base where the center post and the bowl proper meet. This, to me, is the weakest part of the bowl and possibly a design flaw. I use this bowl 5-6 times a week and love it. Knowing that it can crack where it did, I bought 2, so that if one breaks I have a backup.

I love our ankarsum mixer! I wish the bowl was a little more sturdy. Other than that make sure you put liquid first then add flour ingredients slowly.

Its really meant for whipping.

My Ankarsum plastic bowl did not come with the rotor attachment. Although it appeared on the picture on the website, but the box did not list the part as part of the contents. I contacted customer service and they were very happy to send me the part! I am very impressed with Pleasant Hill Grain's attention to customer satisfaction!

First I absolutely love my Ankarsum! The plastic bowl however cracked which, in my opinion, should not be an issue with this price point mixer. Pleasant Hill Grain is awesome, as usual with customer service and sending the replacement bowl. It would be nice if Ankarsum offered a stainless batter bowl and metal gears for the beater set as that appears to be the weak link.

I purchased my mixer used almost 20 years ago- it still works great? Didn't come with any of the whisk components so it was great to be able to purchase them from Pleasant Hill Grain. They were a reasonable price and arrived quickly and in great condition. Great value and customer service!!!

I am very pleased with the product and the service. I wanted a second bowl, other vendors were offering it only with beaters at a higher price or some vendors were cheaper but I didn't trust it would be a true Ankarsrum product, not a made in China counterfeit. Highly recommend Pleasant Hill.
