3pt Wire Winder Cat 1-2 w/Yellow Split Spool

The Pro-Tatch wire winder can be mounted and operated by one person. To wind, just park your vehicle, tie a weight on far end of wire to prevent recoil (a short length of chain works well), and pull wire toward you. When the reel is full, tie the roll with 4 retainer wires held by pre-drilled holes at the edges of the reel. The reel splits easily by spinning the nut off the 1" shaft, and the roll lifts away without binding. To unwind wire, tie wire to a post, set your vehicle's hydraulic control lever to the "float" position and drive forward to unwind.
A ball valve provides infinitely variable speed control. The smooth-operating valve allows you to easily select any rotational speed from fast down to creep, as well as completely stopped. The wire winder's hydraulic motor provides ample power for hard jobs like pulling barbed wire through tall grass or vines. Even the heaviest underbrush is no match for the Pro-Tatch winder.

The 20" diameter, 12 gauge steel wire winder drum is virtually indestructible, and mounts on a heavy duty frame constructed of 11 gauge, 3" square tube. Long life, replaceable, moly-impregnated poly bushings prevent wear to steel parts.
After wire has been rolled up on the Pro-Tatch winder, it can easily be put back on the spool for unwinding. Just put your hydraulic lever in "float" position and drive... the circulation of hydraulic fluid through the motor provides perfect resistance to keep the reel from overspinning. If you're using a skid steer loader without a hydraulic "float" position, you can connect the Pro-Tatch's two hose ends together (using your own adapter) for the same effect.
The Pro-Tatch winder can be purchased with a 3/8"-thick 16"x16" steel plate Universal Mount or a quick-tatch mount for 3-point tractor hitches for Category I, Cat. II, or Cat. III Narrow. The 3-point tractor hitch mount models WW-174 (SKU: FGJXX for Cat. I and II and SKU: PNT38 for Cat. III) and WW-175 (SKU: 2KQXA for Magnum Cat. I and II and SKU: XRXNW for Magnum Cat. III) can easily be converted to fit a Cat. 1, 2 or 3 Narrow by simply changing the bottom pin size and configuration - pins will either face inward or outward on the mount frame. Both models include 7/8" and 1-1/8" pins.
Note: Questions on what category you might need? Cat. 1: Up to 65HP tractors. Pin size 7/8". Cat. II: 65HP to 125HP tractors. Pin size 1-1/8". Cat. III Narrow: 125HP to 200HP tractors. Pin size 1-1/8". This can vary depending on tractor manufacturer but in most cases will be accurate for what you need.

The Pro-Tatch optional wire guide mounts easily on all 3-point hitch, Univ. Plate Mount and gasoline powered models (it does not fit on the Bale-Bed models). The wire guide can be operated from either side on all 3-point hitch and gasoline powered models and on one side for the Univ. Plate Mount model. The wire guide provides handy assistance to produce perfectly wound rolls.

We use it for rolling up used barb wire from fences we are taking down, it worked very well for this application. The thing that we really like about it is being able to remove the roll from the winder without needing a separate spool for each roll. We built a mount to attach it to a skid steer loader, and we installed a flow control to limit speed.
The Pro-Tatch winder is fast, easy to use, nice to work with. Smooth startup prevents breakage. Built to last, with replaceable wear bushings. It would be a great value even at twice the price.
We’ve used your wire winder for 18 months and have wound up right around 1000 miles of wire. It’s done a lot of work for us and held up incredibly well. Send us a pair of bushings, and we also want to buy a second winder.
We haven’t had the chance to use it yet but we were satisfied with the service we received & was shipped as promised.

Five stars aren't enough. If you have much wire to wind up, it will pay for itself in the first week of use. My brother now uses the Pro-Tatch we got twelve years ago, so I ordered another.
We use the winder for old fence lines. It's a great piece of equipment, very happy with the wire winder.

I just received my wire winder and have only rolled up a couple miles of wire so far and has worked awesome, I do think I will be ordering the wire winder guide just to make the rolls a little more uniform... would highly recommend.
