Just Like Grandma's Bakeware
Your grandma’s bakeware might come to mind when you see graniteware, and we think she was on to something. This speckled cookware is lightweight, yet durable, and its non-reactive finish allows the safe use of metal utensils with all the cookware and bakeware. We’ve noticed a growing movement back to preserving and canning produce just like your grandma used to do. For some the reason may be economics, for others it’s a concern about chemicals, preservatives and pesticides. For many it’s the superior taste of homemade foods! With everyone’s busy schedules, nothing beats a great, home cooked meal.
Water Bath Canners
Pleasant Hill Grain offers an assortment of cookware items to suit your cooking and canning needs. For large, high acid canning jobs such as pickles, jams or jellies, we offer 21.5 quart and 33 quart water bath canners. Or perhaps you’d like to preserve a few peaches at the peak of ripeness or make a small batch of strawberry jam. We’ve got you covered there too. The 11.5 quart water bath canner works well for small batches, allowing up to 7 pint jars, while the 21.5 quart and 33 quart canners accommodate 7 and 9 quart jars, respectively.
Our large rectangular roaster and oval roasters each come with a matching dimpled lid to prevent splatters in your oven. Using this lid, your roasting food will be self-basted, and kept moist. We also carry a chrome roasting rack to keep your meat above the juice and out of the fat.
The 7.5 quart blancher with drainer is perfect for a large batch of pasta or fresh vegetables. By removing the drainer you can use the blancher as a stock pot for delicious soup. For larger jobs we have the 34 quart stock pot—now that’s a lot of chili!
